Brand1st

Privacy policy

Effective 25 November 2026

The short version. We collect what we need to run your account, take payment, save your work and improve Brand1st. Your brand answers are private to your account. We never sell your information, and we never send your answers to an AI service. You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.

01Who we are

Brand1st is a product of Brand1st Systems, a registered business name of Nathan Rudel, sole trader, ABN 11 454 793 177, Newcastle, NSW (“we”, “us”). We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. Questions or requests go to hello@brand1st.com.au.

02What we collect

WhatWhy
Your email address and login detailsTo create and secure your account. Passwords are handled by our account provider; we can’t see them.
Payment detailsTo take payment. Stripe processes your card; we only see the amount, date, the last four digits and the card type.
Your answers in Brand1st, your Brand Master and your briefsTo save your work and generate your Brand Master. This can include details about your business, customers and competitors that you choose to enter.
Your intake answers (such as your industry, where your business is at, and what you plan to brief next)To tailor examples and wording to your business, and to understand who uses Brand1st so we can improve it and send relevant emails.
Your acceptance of the founding terms, any referral code, and the offer you boughtTo keep a record of what you agreed to and to pay partner commissions.
Where you are in Brand1st (the last step you worked on)To take you back to it, and to send a reminder if you’ve stopped for a while.
Emails you send us and testimonials you giveTo answer you and, with your permission, to show others what Brand1st does.
Basic website analytics (pages visited, device type, rough location, how you arrived)To see which pages and ads work.

We don’t ask for sensitive information, and we ask you not to enter it into Brand1st.

03Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run Brand1st. They only get what they need to do their job:

Some of these providers store information outside Australia, mainly in the United States. We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to the Australian Privacy Principles.

We never sell your information. We don’t share your answers with other customers or partners. If a partner (such as a designer) referred you, they learn that you bought Brand1st so they can be paid a commission; they don’t see your answers unless you share them yourself.

We never send your answers to an artificial intelligence service. If you use the AI Brief, you choose what to paste into which AI tool, under that tool’s own terms.

04Emails

We send emails you need, such as receipts, login emails and messages about your account. With your permission, we also send emails about Brand1st. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and we follow the Spam Act 2003.

05Founding members

If you took a founding spot, you agreed that we may publish your Brand Master, or parts of it, and your testimonial. We show you exactly what we plan to publish first and remove anything you ask us to. See section 04 of the terms of sale.

06Cookies and your device

Our account provider uses cookies and your browser’s storage to keep you logged in. The app also keeps a copy of your answers on your device so nothing is lost if you go offline; it’s removed when you log out after everything has saved. Google Analytics cookies tell us how the website is used. You can block them in your browser settings.

07How long we keep it, and security

We keep your account and answers while your account exists, so your Brand Master is there when you come back. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your answers within 30 days. We keep payment and sales records for five years, as Australian tax law requires.

Your information is stored by providers that use encryption in transit and access controls. Only Nate, the founder, can access customer accounts, and only to give support, fix problems or meet a legal obligation. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we’ll tell you and do what the law requires.

08Your choices

09Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, email us and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

10Age

Brand1st is for adults running or starting a business. It isn’t intended for anyone under 18.

11Changes

We’ll update this policy if what we collect or how we use it changes, and show the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll email you.
